Terms of Engagement

1. Nature of the service

AbroadLawyers.com is a matching platform and directory. We are not a law firm, do not practice law, and do not provide legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is created with us. Legal services are provided exclusively by independent, bar-registered law firms under their own engagement letters.

2. Vetting — what it means and what it does not

“Vetted” means we verified bar registration, conducted an English-proficiency interview, obtained conflict-of-interest declarations and (for full listing) completed a paid pilot scope. It is a snapshot, reviewed periodically; it is not a guarantee of any specific outcome, and you remain responsible for choosing and instructing your counsel.

3. Fees

Case briefs and matching are free to clients. Fixed fees shown on this site are reference scopes agreed directly with the law firm, which bills you under its own engagement terms and client account rules. We do not sit between client and counsel and do not take a share of legal fees.

4. No warranty; jurisdiction limits

Site content is general information, not legal advice, and may not reflect the most recent legal developments. Legal outcomes depend on facts and jurisdiction. Nothing on this site creates any warranty beyond the services expressly described.

5. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability arising from use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid us (platform fees), and we are not liable for acts or omissions of independent law firms.

6. Acceptable use

Do not submit false briefs, attempt to bypass firm vetting, scrape the directory at scale, or use the platform to offer unlicensed legal services. We may remove access for violations.
